The Four Walls of Redefining Happiness

Welcome to my new blog, "Blender Woman Decorates".

My husband ("Mr. Amazing") and I have been married just a few short years.  During this time we have shared a home he built prior to us becoming a couple.  Filled with memories that did not belong to the two of us, we decided to embark on an adventure of making our own Oasis of Peace.

So up went the For Sale sign and we waited...and waited.  In a very depressed market with a home that catered to an even smaller demographic, it took several months to find that perfect buyer for our home.

Shopping for the new home was no easy feat either.  The stress of finding a home that not only catered to our family needs but had all the desired features in a desired location was sometimes less than pleasant.  Thank God we didn't have to search nearly as long to find a home as it took to sell.

In just a few short weeks we will be leaving the only home we know as a couple and relocating to the next city over.  Our home is a smaller home than we currently have, but move in ready.  Now that we are facing an empty nest we are focusing on being able to create a home that speaks volumes of who we are.

As any new couple, finding decorating ideas and styles that mesh two individuals into one, is always a challenge.  I am more traditional and classic in my design, while my husband is a traditional and modern.  He likes new and I like old.  He likes straight lines and I like some character.  Rest assured this will be a very unique home by the time we have put our personal stamp on every crevice.

I hope you will join us as we use our Four Walls to Redefine Our Happiness, and tackle projects around our new home and make them into something beautiful worth sharing.  I have always liked to decorate and create spaces of beauty in my home.  I am hardly a professional, but it is a personal passion I indulge myself in.

Our new home does not need any renovating or a major overhaul, but the list of projects is growing.  Among them we hope to tackle a hugely neglected back yard and a very generic front stoop with zero curb appeal.  Painting and decorating will come in the cooler months of the year along with the completion of a completely unfinished basement (this will be Mr. Amazing's little pet project).

Ciao,
Blender Woman

PS...Mr Amazing is not so inclined to "put his business" out there, so I am sure he will be rolling his eyes and giving me lectures once again when he sees that I have turned to my passion of blogging once again. "Suck it up Hunny, maybe one day these blogs will be funding our retirement!"
